Following various earlier awards between them, the 2017 harvest was recently the only Shiraz in South Africa awarded double gold status at the Veritas wine show, South Africa's largest wine competition.
These two wines continue in the footsteps of the earlier Driehoek harvests. The highlight was the 2014 harvest winning the "world's best Shiraz/ Syrah" award at the 2017 Syrah du Monde competition in France.
Between the two of them, the awards include Veritas gold and double gold, Michelangelo gold, Platter Wine Guide 4.5 stars, Top 12 Shiraz 2019 winners and SAWi platinum status for consistency. It also constantly features high up on the Vivino App on the best-rated wines in South Africa by consumers - as high as No 3 in early November.
The 2017 harvest is not on the market yet. We have, however, put together mixed boxes of six, containing three 2016 and three 2017 bottles. It is an ideal Christmas present (for yourself!). These mixed boxes can only be bought on Driehoek or Rosendal Winery.
