New Release: 2021 Rosendal Chenin Blanc

New Release: 2021 Rosendal Chenin Blanc

We couldn't think of a better way to start the year, than with the release of our brand new Rosendal 2021 Chenin Blanc.

This is the first Chenin Blanc that Rosendal has released, and it is clear that this wine will do exceptionally well with our loyal clients! Especially since we only produced 3000 bottles.

The grapes used for this wine comes from the renowned Swartland region, where the conditions resulted in highly concentrated and flavoursome grapes.

This wine was made reductively (absence of oxygen at all times where possible). The grapes were harvested during early morning hours in cool temperatures and were given ±8 - 10 hours skin contact after crushing. Enzymes were used to help extract flavours while on the skins. The juice was inoculated with an aromatic commercial yeast and allowed to ferment dry. The wine stayed on the lees for 8 months before being racked, filtered and bottled.

The wine offers beautiful notes of peach and floral aromas, while the palate is layered with flavours of melon, pineapple and tropical notes. This is balanced with steely minerality and crispness.

This makes the wine perfect for pairing with your favourite summer salads, chicken satay or grilled yellowtail.

We anticipate only good things to come from this wine, perfect for the summer days of 2022.
