Rosendal Reserve Jubileum 2014

Rosendal Reserve Jubileum 2014

Rosendal's Jubileum is a favourite amongst our clients and was sold out within 5 weeks when the Jubileum 2013 was released last year.

Rosendal Reserve Jubileum is a limited release blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. When poured you will notice the dark purple rim in the glass which is the first sign of the wine's intensity. Notes of fragrant pepper spice, wild blackberries and graphite first meet you on the nose. The full palate is generous with lush with sweet bold fruit and brandied cherry that lead to a firm tannin structure.

The grapes were sourced from the Bottelary Hills in Stellenbosch, known for their serious and full bodied red wines. The terroir is weathered granite with grumbly sub-soil and the vines are not irrigated. This and the fact that the 15 - 20 year old vineyards are low yielding results in a full bodied and concentrated wine like the Reserve Jubileum.

The grapes that make up the Jubileum blend were harvested by hand and brought to the cellar where the bunches were destemmed and inoculated with commercial yeast. The fermentation process commenced in stainless steel tanks and lasted 10 days. Aroma and colour extraction was achieved by aerated pump-overs 3 times daily. The wine was aged in first fill (20%) and second fill (80%) French Oak barrels for 24 months.

Rosendal's Reserve Jubileum is available in cases of 6 at R 2,694 per case.
