We are delighted to announce Rosendal Wines won a Double Gold and two Double Silver Awards at this year’s National Wine Challenge.
Our Rosendal Reserve Red Rock 2014 won Double Gold and we couldn’t be prouder. The Reserve Red Rock is a limited release Bordeaux blend with only 2000 bottles in the vintage. The blend consists of 42% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 2% petit Verdot resulting in a deep crimson red colour and pairs perfectly with roasts and typical winter dishes.
The two wines rewarded Double Silver is the Barony Røsslyng Chardonnay 2015 and Rosendal Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon 2014.
Our Barony Røsslyng Chardonnay is light in colour with hints of straw yellow and green brilliance. The nose welcome apricot blossom and lemon drops with a lightly wooded finish; the palate contains soft tropical fruit notes with a creamy finish.
The Rosendal Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 celebrates its third award with the National Wine Challenge. The Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded Silver in the International Wine & Spirit Competition and Gold in the Vitis Vinifera Awards last year. Only 20 barrels were produced of this full-bodied classic Cabernet Sauvignon and the wine can be aged for up to 10 years from vintage.
